Tenant Duties Before The Move

THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TENANT BEFORE MOVING

If you are living in an apartment or home you rented, it might be time to move. The first thing that comes to mind is how to get out as fast as you can. You might therefore pack your belongings untidily without taking adequate precaution.

Doing this will only invite disaster and will eventually transform it into an unpleasant experience.

Since you know what responsibilities you should take on – you need to tackle these responsibilities upfront. Things would run smoothly and it would make sure that your bonds are returned at the end.

Inform your janitor

The foremost thing that you should do is to inform your janitor of your move. Then give him the date you want to move. If you fail to do this, the janitor might discover your plans himself. In such situations, you would suffer a financial penalty.

Gather all your items

This is the hardest part of the process – the act of packing is not so funny. But you can overcome this barrier if you hire a professional Brisbane mover. You need a list that should be followed when you pack on the schedule date. If you wait until the eleventh hour to pack all your stuffs by yourself, you are only acting in folly.

Clean your home thoroughly

Oftentimes, you might be tempted to just sweep or dust the place slightly before you move. But the truth is that, you would do better if you clean the place thoroughly and try to leave it spotless. You should direct your energy to making the whole place look neat. This will ensure that nobody charges for you a fee for cleaning. More so, you can be certain that nothing is left behind.

Carry out repairs

It is only natural that you might have damage the property in which you live a bit during the time you spent there. If you are not ready to lose a substantial part of your bonds, then carry out repairs on the damages. You can seek the help of a relative or friend if that is important. But be aware that you would save more money if you carry out the repairs yourself. The reverse happens when you permit the janitor to use a part of the bond for such repairs. Besides, you won’t get any letter that speaks stern statements later on.

Keep a document

As soon as your property are packed out, cleaned and arranged properly, you should take pictures of each room as a proof of how you left the place. Ensure that you stamp a date on the pictures. This serves as a protection just in case the janitor decides to lie that you didn’t take care of the apartment.

Recover the bonds

If you have carefully followed the guides listed above and have stuck to the lease conditions and terms; you can recover your bonds without a fuss.

Then the bonds recovered can be used to buy new pieces of furniture for the new apartment.
