Moving Arbitration when things go sour and Seeking Redress

In the course of moving or evacuating personal effects of the client by a logistic company from one location to the other there are bound to be accidents or unforeseen circumstances which are beyond the control of the company or may result from the negligence of the company which might result in serious loss to the client. This situation can better be handled by making a formal report or claims through the company because it is expected that every company has a channel through which such complaints or reports are filed in order to get customer’s feedback. Irrespective of the report, most companies have such a process and procedure in place in their organization to track negative and positive feedbacks from their clients and use this to strategize in order to serve them better.

It is not often that you find organizations that do not operate such system nor take such feedbacks seriously because customer care is the sole of every business. In most customer care sensitive organizations feedbacks from clients are usually logged into the system and treated appropriately so that no detail is treated with levity. However, it is not uncommon that despite the sensitive nature of this arm of an organization issues still arise because complaints are not given the appropriate attention they require. If there is a case of damage in transit to a client’s property and a report has been lodged it is expected of the company to investigate and make necessary compensation available to the client going by contractual obligation but where this fails or is not given the due attention it deserves arbitration results.

Arbitration results when an aggrieved party or parties involved in a contract feel short changed and have cause to result to getting a third party to intervene or render judgement in favour or against the erring party. This recourse is often resorted to when all other process or procedure in place to have resolved an issue is deemed to have failed or is in the process of ending up in a logjam. A client who has reported or filed an issue to the concerned department or company without getting a reasonable response or relief is granted another type of protection in the form of a customer protection right agency to whom he can lay his grievances. Alternatively, there exist in every nation an association or body that regulates the operation of a professional body or group of industrial concerns, also vested with the authority to look into cases of unprofessional conduct or malpractices.

The client is always free to avail themselves of the services of these bodies or interest groups that were primarily set up to tackle such cases as against taking such matter to the civil court for arbitration. In the United States of America, the opportunity  exist to channel complaints through various organizations but one such as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Department of Transportation – Office of the Inspector General, American Moving and Storage Association, amongst others. A visit to the internet could also be helpful in sourcing for information about complaints centres.
